MAGPADS - RESIN COATED LIMPET MAGNETS

Magpads have been developed to provide a range of handy and powerful limpet magnets with a soft contact base to minimize the possibility of damage to paintwork, particularly when applying and removing the Magpad.  All Magpads have a multipole magnet circuit to give the combination of good pull-off as well as sideways/shear resistance.  The magnets are encapsulated in a polyurethane compound which provides a soft contact surface. The metal top of the Magpad is zinc plated for corrosion resistance.  Magpads come in a variety of sizes with various stud and screw hole mounts as detailed.

MAGPAD 1 and MAGPAD 4

Originally designed for holding vehicle top roof signs, but useful for a variety of applications.  Both models have a handy M6 x 16mm mounting stud. Magpad 4 also comes in a 2-stud version.

NEOPADS

The Neo Pad is a development of the popular Magpad range.

The Neo Pad uses Neodynium magnets with a polyurethane face so the unit has excellent magnetic adhesion yet will not damage painted surfaces.

So far the Neopad is available only in one size being 60mm x 40mm; there are 2 variances, one with a 6mm mounting stud and the other with a 7,5mm dia.

hole suitable to accept a mounting bolt.  The low profile of  7mm of the Neo Pad makes it most useful to secure items close to metal surfaces.

MAGFAST - LIMPET MAGNET

Magfast limpet magnets are economically priced assemblies designed for effective holding of components.  The Magfast assembly comprises a large ferrite ring magnet mounted into a square or rectangular galvanized cover plate.  The outer galvanized face of the Magfast is provided with one mounting hole for Magfast 1 and two mounting holes on Magfast 2.     Magfast assemblies are not recommended for clamping on to painted or delicate surfaces.  They would be ideal for clamping on to structural steel and plain steel surfaces such as machine beds etc.

MAGNET BADGE HOLDER

The magnet badge holder comprises a plated keeper with a self adhesive face and the magnet assembly onto which is mounted two NdFeB magnets.  These assemblies, being produced in vast quantities, are extremely cost effective and are also being used for many different industrial applications.

MAGNETIC HOOKS

These hooks are suitable for hanging items onto any metal surface.   Some suggestions are keys on the inside of a safe door,  or various other objects onto  filing cabinets, desks, or door frames.

They can also be used to hang banners and signage or for applying  screens onto metal frames.

They are available in the following diameter sizes:    25mm ;  32mm and  40mm.

NEO-POTS

This powerful range of circular holding magnets use NdFeB magnets.  Size for size, compared to other magnet assemblies, they give exceptional lifting power.  Neo-Pots are plated and have a studded M5 threaded insert on the non-contact face so a bolt can easily be attached.  A maximum operating temperature of 80/100 degrees Celsius is recommended with the Neo-Pot range.

MULTIPOLE MAGNETS

GENERAL

Multipole magnets are extremely useful for a variety of applications viz.:

Provide a signal from a rotating device to be picked up by a reed switch or hall sensor.

Provide greater lift-off and far greater shear resistance on magnet bases.

Two multipole magnets separated by an air gap provide an effective magnetic clutch/transmission coupling.

Two multipole magnets, one stationary and one moving, with an air gap provide an effective torque/slipping clutch.

Provide a compact stator circuit for either a generator or motor.

There are two main multipole magnet systems:

1.        FERRITE MULTIPOLE MAGNETS

FERRITE MULITPOLE MAGNETS

Anisotropic ferrite ring magnets are a popular and cost effective means of achieving a multipole signal.  Magnetization through the "T" with poles on each face is the most popular, but multipole on one face only is possible.  The cost of magnetizing multipole increases with the number of poles as special jigs and fixtures are required and increases in complexity with the number of poles.

MADE UP MULTIPOLE ASSEMBLIES

Assemblies can be made up using rare earth magnets which can be glued to part of the existing mechanical equipment, i.e. a shaft or gear.  Alternatively, the magnets can be assembled on to a plate or disc which is then mounted on a convenient part of the mechanical drive train.
